ANQ, a peer-reviewed journal, welcomes contributions of factual articles and notes based on new research in the language and literature of the English-speaking world. Historical Methods, a quarterly peer-reviewed journal, reaches an international audience of historians and other social scientists concerned with historical problems. The journal welcomes contributions that explore interdisciplinary approaches to new data sources, new approaches to older questions and material, and practical discussions of computer and statistical methodology, data collection, and sampling procedures. Hospital Topics focuses on all aspects of healthcare delivery and management. Through articles on theory, applied research, and practice, Hospital Topics addresses the concerns of today's healthcare professional and manager. The Journal of Arts Management, Law, and Society seeks scholarly articles addressing the topic of cultural mediation for its Spring 2010 issue. Deadline for submission of articles is November 1, 2009.
Cultural mediation is understood to cover a broad range of practices:
audience participation stimulating cultural encounters between artists, their works, and the public promoting democratization of culture cultural inclusion development of the role of arts/cultural managers as facilitators of culture development of processes for genuine artistic and cultural encounters providing opportunities for individuals and communities to find their own purposes in arts and cultural activities
Other treatments of the topic will also be considered.
Submissions may take the form of research articles, commentaries, reports, and reviews.
All submissions, except for reports and reviews, are subject to double-blind paper review. Controversial viewpoints are welcomed, but alternative viewpoints should be acknowledged and treated in a responsible manner. Length of submissions should not exceed 6,000 words. The Journal of Experimental Education publishes basic and applied research studies that use the range of quantitative and qualitative methodologies found in the behavioral, cognitive, and social sciences. The Journal of General Psychology publishes human and animal research, reflecting various methodological approaches, in all areas of experimental psychology. Traditional topics such as physiological and comparative psychology, sensation, perception, learning, and motivation, as well as more diverse topics such as cognition, memory, language, aging, and substance abuse are appropriate, as are mathematical, statistical, methodological, and other theoretical investigations. Preference is given to studies that establish functional relationships, involve a series of integrated experiments, or contribute to the development of new theoretical insights or practical applications. The Journal of Genetic Psychology is devoted to research and theory in developmental psychology across the life span. Articles that concern educational, clinical, cross-cultural, and comparative issues related to development also are encouraged. Although the major focus of the journal is empirical research and the exposition and criticism of theory, applied and descriptive articles are occasionally published as well as brief reports, replications and refinements, and reviews of the literature. The Journal of Social Psychology welcomes and publishes original empirical research in all areas of basic and applied social psychology. Preference will be given to manuscripts that report laboratory or field research in core areas of social and organizational psychology including—but not limited to—the self, attribution theory, attitudes, social influence, consumer behavior, decision making, groups and teams, stereotypes and discrimination, interpersonal attraction, prosocial behavior, aggression, organizational behavior, leadership, and cross-cultural studies. The journal will soon process its peer reviews completely electronically, expediting peer reviews and enabling authors to find the status of their manuscripts quickly and independently. Science Activities, a quarterly, activity-based, science education journal, seeks articles that describe teacher-tested, hands-on projects and experiments, as well as innovative curriculum suggestions. Manuscripts should be written for the K-12 classroom educator, and the grade level of the activity should be indicated. We encourage authors to submit supplementary illustrative materials, for example, clear, digital photographs, slides, figures and tables, and artist-rendered drawings. Please see author guidelines for more details on manuscript submission. Symposium, a quarterly journal in modern literatures, welcomes contributions pertinent to modern languages and literatures. Research on authors, themes, periods, genres, works, and theory, often through comparative studies, is regularly featured. Recent issues include essays on Yolanda Bedregal, Albert Camus, Assia Djebar, Carlos Fuentes, Franz Kafka, Gaston Leroux, and José Marmol.
